Obituary for Margaret Stewart-Sims

Margaret E. Stewart-Sims, 86, of Junction City, passed away Sunday, January 14th, at Via Christi Health Center- Manhattan. She worked for many years with Bell Taxi in Junction City as a customer service representative.

Margaret was born in Evanston, IN on September 6, 1931, the daughter of the late Truly and Carrie (Beard) Evans. She was united in marriage to Joe Aaron Sims on Oct. 10, 2009, in Junction City. She completed her education from Junction City High School, was a member of the Second Missionary Baptist Church in Junction City.

Margaret is survived by two daughters, Linda (James) Walker, of South Mills, NC;

Carla McClinton, of Clinton, MD; three sons Berthram Mathis, of Junction City; George (Delia) Laster, of Guam; Harrison (Diane) Stewart, of Forestville MD, ex-son-in-law Mack McClinton, 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Margaret was proceeded in death by her parents, and seven brothers.

A Celebration of Life Service was held at Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home & Cremation Saturday, January 20th with the Rev. Redo Purnell officiating. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 am, at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery, Manhattan on Wednesday, January 24, 2018. The family requests any donations be directed to Alzheimer's Association 225 N. Michigan Avenue Chicago, IL 60601-7633.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home and Crematory.
