Frederick Charles Beverly was born in Manhattan, Kansas on May 7, 1990 to Frederick Erick Beverly and Clara Bolton Thompson.  He attended Manhattan schools and graduated with the Class of 2008 from Manhattan High School.

Frederick was a mild-mannered young man who enjoyed sports and motorcycle riding.  He was also a musician (drummer) and used his talent in church or religious settings. He was a member of Bethel AME Church in Manhattan.  At an earlier time, he attended Fellowship Temple and the Pentecostal Church (5th & Adams) in Junction City.

Frederick accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour and was baptized into the faith while attending Fellowship Temple.  Upon finishing high school, he decided to join the Kansas National Guard and had the opportunity to travel (with the Guard) to Djibouti, Africa.  During his time in Africa, he played drums for the religious services for the National Guard.  He enjoyed his hobby of scuba diving-and was a Supply Clerk with the Kansas National Guard at Fort Riley.  As a child, he was also a Boy Scout.

On many Saturday nights, Frederick would spend his time rehearsing on the drums at Bethel AME Church-in preparation for Sunday Services. With his motorcycle riding club, he was instrumental in raising funds for autistic children.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents (Charles and Geneva Beverly and Henry Bolton).

He is survived by his parents, Fred E. Beverly of Manhattan, Kansas and Clara Bolton Thompson of Midland, Texas as well as his grandmother, Emma Gean Crumdy. His sisters are Erica Beverly of Wilmington, Delaware, Simone Beverly of Manhattan, Kansas, Rimona Beverly of Houston, Texas, Sharlene Beverly of Manhattan, Kansas, Marjorie Guillory and Raina Guillory of Midland, Texas; three brothers, Gregory Watts of Houston, Texas, Eric Beverly of Chester, Pennsylvania and Isaac Beverly of Manhattan, Kansas.  He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, many aunts and uncles, cousins, friends and his National Guard Family.

Frederick departed this life on January 1, 2012 at Mercy Regional Health Center, Manhattan, Kansas.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 6, 2012 at 10:00 am at Morris Hill Chapel, Fort Riley, Kansas with Apostle A.S. Johnson officiating.  Interment will follow at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery in Manhattan, Kansas.

Words can not express our grief over this tragedy. We have so many wonderful memories of Frederick playing outside and just being a little boy. He always had a big heart and always wanted to be the big brother looking out for everyone. Our prayers are with you during this time and the days to come. During times like these words are so few but we have the blessed assurance that God is a God of comfort. He will strengthen each of you outside of yourselves to handle the death of Frederick. If there is anything that we can do, please do not hesitate to contact us. We love you so much and remember the happy times that we shared at Fort Riley, Kansas. You are never forgotten. Condolences to the Beverly Family: At such a time as this,we the members of River of Life Church of God in Christ would like to extend our heartfelt sympathy to you and the family. We realize that words may seem empty as you are grieving the loss of your beloved Frederick Charles Beverly, Jr. In our times of loss, we can sometimes find ourselves overwhelmed with feelings of confusion and sorrow. Hopelessness and despair may well up in our hearts, and it can seem as though comfort is beyond our reach, but as Jesus Christ tells us, "Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted." (Matthew 5:4) It may seem like a contradiction when you think of those who mourn as being blessed. But God will give to those who know him in a personal way, the strength to get through difficult times. The loss of a loved one is always a very difficult time for any family. Rest assured that you are in our prayers as we pray for God to give you comfort during your difficult hour. Yours truly in Christ, Pastor Sam M. Frazier & the River of Life Church Family - Topeka, KS

Beverly Family. My family amd I send our deepest condolences to you. We only met Freddy a few times when he came to our house to hang out with our son Johnny Robinson. However, we will always remember him for his smile and his polite and respectful demeanor. Johnny always spoke very highly of him and considered him to be a loyal friend. Johnny has moved to Virginia and is profoundly sorry that he could not be here to remember his friend. Our prayer for you is that God will fill you with His peace.
