Frederick Charles Beverly was born in Manhattan, Kansas on May
7, 1990 to Frederick Erick Beverly and Clara Bolton Thompson.
He attended Manhattan schools and graduated with the Class of 2008
from Manhattan High School.
Frederick was a mild-mannered young man who enjoyed sports and
motorcycle riding. He was also a musician (drummer) and used
his talent in church or religious settings. He was a member of
Bethel AME Church in Manhattan. At an earlier time, he
attended Fellowship Temple and the Pentecostal Church
(5th & Adams) in Junction City.
Frederick accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour and was
baptized into the faith while attending Fellowship Temple.
Upon finishing high school, he decided to join the Kansas National
Guard and had the opportunity to travel (with the Guard) to
Djibouti, Africa. During his time in Africa, he played drums
for the religious services for the National Guard. He enjoyed
his hobby of scuba diving-and was a Supply Clerk with the Kansas
National Guard at Fort Riley. As a child, he was also a Boy
Scout.
On many Saturday nights, Frederick would spend his time
rehearsing on the drums at Bethel AME Church-in preparation for
Sunday Services. With his motorcycle riding club, he was
instrumental in raising funds for autistic children.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents (Charles and Geneva
Beverly and Henry Bolton).
He is survived by his parents, Fred E. Beverly of Manhattan,
Kansas and Clara Bolton Thompson of Midland, Texas as well as his
grandmother, Emma Gean Crumdy. His sisters are Erica Beverly of
