Dear Jeannie and Family: I am so sorry to have lost such a dear friend. Marty's "gruff" exterior was his unique way of hiding such a kind and generous heart. I will miss him tremendously. Please take comfort in knowing that you all, his family, was the most important element of his life. He spoke of you often with pride and a twinkle in those "baby blues". I pray that you will each find comfort through the grace of God as you mourn this very special man. With Sincerest Sympathy, Carmen G. McLilly

Dear Jeannie & Family. I don't know what to say. Your family will be in my prayers. Marty was the one person who got me through my Warrant Officer Candiate training. He told me if I didn't make it I would have to deal with him. Knowing I had to answer to him if I failed was just what I needed to make it. He made me write what he said on a piece of paper to remind myself what he said. I kept that paper in my pocket during my 6 wks of training. When I thought I would give up I would pull it out and could hear his voice. I know Marty touched a lot of peoples lives but he truely touched and changed mine for the better. I will miss him dearly.
