Obituary for Bobby Joe Kincheloe

Bobby Joe Kincheloe, 89, of Manhattan, Kansas passed away Thursday, November 22, 2018, at Meadowlark Hills Retirement Community.

On April 21, 1929, in Neosho, Missouri, Bobby Joe was born to Edna Mae (Noyes) and Earl Cornelius Kincheloe. He was the eleventh of thirteen children. He joined the military before graduating and later received his GED, of which he was proud. On October 25, 1952, Bobby was united in marriage to the love of his life, Elizabeth May Youngdahl at Central Avenue United Methodist Church in Duluth, MN. Elizabeth passed away on February 7, 2000, after 47 years of marriage. Bobby served in both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force and retired as a Master Sergeant after 23 years of service. He was a Federal Civil Service employee at Fort Riley, KS retiring in 1994. He was a proud member of the VFW in Duluth, MN. He enjoyed listening to country music, watching westerns, and visiting with friends.

Bobby is survived by his children, Linda Mooers, of Duluth, MN; Erica (William) Gold, of Manhattan, KS; Lisa (Eric) Mann, of Murfreesboro, TN; 6 grandchildren (Shawn Mooers, Brian Mooers, Amy Mooers, Mark Gold, Sydney Gold, Gavin Mann); 4 great-grandchildren: (Kenyatta Mooers, Owen Mooers, Taylor Mooers, Austin Mooers); ex-son-in-law and friend, David Mooers; and a sister, Donna Doud, of Eugene, OR. Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth; his sons Bobby D. and Lloyd E. and his parents Edna and Earl.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and gratitude for all the acts of kindness and thoughtfulness from Bobby’s friends and caregivers at Wroten House, Meadowlark Retirement Community. A memorial service will be held at First Lutheran Church in Manhattan on November 27, 2018, at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Liz Kocher officiating. Interment will be held in June of 2019 at the Oneota Cemetery, Duluth, MN.
