Opal Aldine Schwerdt

Opal 'Aldine' Schwerdt Opal Aldine Berry Schwerdt, 73, passed away at Stoneybrook Retirement Community on July 19, 2017. Aldine was born in Westmoreland, Kansas on October 8, 1943, to Jerry and Sarah Opal Tilton Berry. She grew up in the Fostoria community, later lived in Yakima, Washington and then moved with her family back to Kansas to the Garrison community. In 1957 the family moved to Manhattan and she resided there until the time of her death. She worked as a house keeper for most of her adult life. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Nadine Peterson, and her brother Jerry Don Berry. She is survived by her brother Jerome Berry, sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews. A graveside service is planned for Saturday July 29 at Carnahan Creek Cemetery at 10:00 am.
