When I am gone, release me, let me go.
I have so many things to see and do,
You mustn't tie yourself to me with too many tears,
But be thankful we had so many good years.
I gave you my love, and you can only guess
How much you've given me in happiness.
I thank you for the love that you have shown,
But now it is time I traveled on alone.
So grieve for me a while, if grieve you must,
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It is only for a while that we must part,
So treasure the memories within your heart.
I won't be far away for life goes on.
And if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can't see or touch me, I will be near.
And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear,
All my love around you soft and clear.
And then, when you come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile and a 'Welcome Home'
There are no words to express
What you mean to me
And for being the Dad
You did not have to be
A beautiful person
With a wonderful heart
And I miss you so much
Since we had to part
You’re in my thoughts everyday
And that’s how it will always be
For you maybe up in Heaven now
But you’ll always be with me
You left me with memories
And I love you dearly still
No matter how much time goes by
You know I always will
You were a very special person
With kindness in your heart
And the love we had together
Grow stronger now we’re apart
You never looked for praises
You were never the one to boast
You just went on quietly working
For the ones you loved the most
Your dreams were seldom spoken
Your wants were very few
And most of the time your worries
Went unspoken too
You were there… A firm foundation
Through all our storms of life
A sturdy hand to hold on to
In times of stress and strife
And now it is the day
Dear angels, hear my prayer
Please guard him with your gentle wings
And tend him with great care
I’ll treasure the memories
And I’ll not feel sad
God’s gift to me
Was to have had you as my dad.
With love from your daughter,
Monique
