Obituary

Ludine Cecelie Daniel (Korb), 90, of Manhattan, Kansas, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on August 15, 2026. She was born on September 18, 1935, in Marytown, Wisconsin.

Ludine married the love of her life, James Daniel, on February 15, 1974, in Copperas Cove, Texas. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, family, and countless memories.

A hardworking and independent woman, Ludine owned and operated her own café in Killeen, Texas. She was known for her quick wit, sharp tongue, and remarkable sense of humor. Her family and friends will always remember her for her smart remarks, playful teasing, and ability to find humor in nearly every situation.

One of her favorite stories involved a gentleman who frequently visited her café. Ludine loved sharing jokes with him and exchanging playful banter, only to later discover that he was a preacher. When she asked why he had never mentioned it, he replied that if he had, she probably would have stopped telling him her jokes. Stories like that perfectly captured Ludine's spirited personality and her gift for making people laugh.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Martha Korb; her children, Cindy, Kathy, and Gene; and her siblings, Richard and Alyce.

She is survived by her loving husband, James Daniel; her children, Martha, Mary, Natha, and Richard; and her sister, Nathalie.

Ludine will be remembered for her laughter, her resilience, her unmistakable sense of humor, and the love she shared with those fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends for generations to come.
