Paul Eugene Ehm, 83, of Manhattan, passed away Sunday morning, December 21st, in Overland Park, KS. Paul Eugene Ehm was born in rural Junction City, on May 5, 1931, the son of the late Paul A. Ehm and Katherine M. (Keating) Ehm. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in Manhattan (Manhattan Catholic Schools) in 1950, after graduation he became a farmer in the Ashland Bottoms south of Manhattan and he retired 3 years ago. He was married on August 29,1959 in Junction City at the St. Xaviers Catholic Church to Shirley Heller and she survives. Paul was a member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Manhattan, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1832 Manhattan, a member of the Manhattan/Tri-County Bowling Association, and an avid supporter of the Manhattan Catholic Schools. Surviving Paul is his wife, Shirley of 55 years of the home; five daughters, Hazel, wife of Mike Wilson, of Hampton, VA; Theresa, wife of Scott Sutton, of Manhattan; Paula, wife of Jim Helget, of St. George; Lori Shepard, of Kansas City, MO; Bert, wife of Skip Reier, of Springfield, MO; a son, Gary, husband of Tanja Ehm, of Manhattan; a brother, Harold 'Hap', husband of Pat Ehm, of Eugene, OR; 12 grandchildren (Kelsey, Colby, Brian, Zachary, Derek, Casey, Bridgett, Desiree, Corey, Tia, Leah, Shelby). Family members that proceeded him are his parents and stepmother Lula Ehm. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Dec. 28 from 10:00am to 8:00pm, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 - 8:00pm, a Vigil service will held at 7:00pm at the Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home, 1317 W. Poyntz Ave. On Monday, December 29th at 10:00am, the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Manhattan, with Father Joe Popelka officiating. Interment will follow the service at St. Patrick's Cemetery, on Elk Creek Rd and Excel Rd, east of Manhattan, KS. The family suggest that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Seven Dolors Catholic Church, 731 Pierre Manhattan, KS 66502 and sent in care of the funeral home.
