In Loving Memory of Robert Watson Meyer November 13, 1959 – May 13, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert ‘Bob’ Watson Meyer on May 13, 2025, at the age of 65. 

A devoted father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend, Robert passed peacefully, knowing he was loved deeply by the ones closest to him. Born on November 13, 1959, Bob lived a life defined by dedication, craftsmanship, and deep love for his family. 

Bob dedicated his life to his craft, working for decades as a skilled installer of cabinets, trim, and countertops. His attention to detail, pride in his work, and exceptional craftsmanship earned him a reputation as one of the best. His work continues to speak for itself, remembered and admired by many who had the privilege to see it — or better yet, live with it. Among those who worked alongside him, he was known as “Hollywood,” a nickname that reflected both his talent and the legendary presence he brought to every job site.

Bob’s heart belonged to his daughter, Melissa Laury, who was his world. He found immense joy and pride in watching her grow and flourish. He is also lovingly remembered by his son-in-law, Astin, and his granddaughter, Mariah, whose laughter and happiness brought light to his life. 

He is survived by his beloved mother, Mary Louise Hinds; his sisters, Kristi Meyer and Hillary Schmidt; his brother-in-law, Tracy Schmidt; and his nephews, Kiefer and Kyler Schmidt, who loved and admired their uncle dearly. 

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Francis Meyer. Bob was also a true animal lover, and none held a more special place in his heart than Roxer-Boxer, his loyal best friend for 14 years. Their bond was deep, and though Rox passed last year, we take comfort in the thought of them reunited once again.Bob will be remembered for his unmatched craftsmanship and artistic abilities, his generous heart, his unforgettable smile and the way he loved. His legacy lives on not only in the work of his hands but in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.

A memorial service to honor Bob’s life will be held on May 24th, 2025, 3:00pm-5:00pm at Carlson’s Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home.
